We have purchased Amanah Hartanah Bumiputera (AHB) units...

Have you?  Mr Shan and I did our first buy yesterday.

What is AHB?  AHB to me is an opportunity to have part ownership of certain prime properties in big cities in Malaysia, which currently most located in Kuala Lumpur.  By buying the units, it makes you the half owner of the properties.  You'll get the rentals in every 6-months without thinking of the maintenance or chasing your tenants every end of the month.  Well, how about that?

My family and I heard the break out news last week, when our Prime Minister launched this in the National TV.  Since that day, my mind boggled hard - Should We Buy It, or Shouldn't We?  Before the break-out news, I had an initial plan on investing in golds but after discussions with Mr Shan and definitely both of my account-parents, that would have to put on hold first.

What made us interested in buying?
1.  Divident being issued every 6-months.
2.  Most of the rules are Syariah-Compliant.
3.  No sales charge imposed.  Definitely no sales person chasing you around to buy it.
4.  Affordable.
5.  Long term investment.
6.  Definitely low risk tolerance.

But there are few things that require your concern
1.  There's no passbook/certificate.  A statement will be issued in every 6-months.
2.  All puchasing activities will produce a validated copy of the 'Borang Pendaftaran'.  Make sure you keep it in a file.
3.  Minimum purchase is 500 units = 500 ringgit, and maximum purchase is 200,000 units = RM 200,000.00.
4.  Minimum subsequent purchase is RM 100.00
5.  Minimum redemption/selling is at RM 500.00.

How to purchase the units?
1.  Bring your IC
2.  Bring your money.
3.  Fill in the 'Borang Pendaftaran AHB' form (you can get this from any Maybank branches).

Need more information?
1.  03-2297 7888 (Manager of PHB) or any Maybank Branches around you.
